"'Algo de comer' is a painting I created in Colombia, newly married and with my daughter in my arms, in my apartment in Bogotá. It is one of my first three-dimensional works and probably the first in Colombia to incorporate life-size elements of things and people passing by. Cecilia and I were the models.
As you can see, the window is closed, and the artwork intrudes into the observer's space. It is a piece that aims to annihilate 'the frame' and uses a one-to-one scale that eliminates the view through the window, as would be seen in traditional painting."
