LT Projects proudly presents Leitmotiv, a solo exhibition by Luis Hernando Giraldo at our Bogotá gallery space. The word 'leitmotif', taken from German, is a musical term used to describe a repetitive melody or refrain that represents a specific character, idea or emotion. For Giraldo, whose love of music and poetry have shaped his understanding of art, leitmotifs are an intrinsic part of his storytelling methodology. Poetically embedded in his work as visual conduits to his world, these repeating subjects, or leitmotivs, illustrate a narrative steeped in the artists’ own memories. His most prominent leitmotiv is the mountain of San Antonio in his hometown of Pácora, which over five decades has become a symbol of memory, identity and contemplation and was the main subject of his previous exhibition, La montaña cuenta una historia. LT Projects' Leitmotiv includes the pieces from that exhibition as well as others as Giraldo's debut show as a representee of Leon Tovar.
